New statutory rates

This week buddy was asked: Do the new statutory rates for sick pay, maternity leave, paternity leave, and adoption leave take effect from 1 January 2007?

Buddy says: No, although the HMRC have confirmed rates will increase next year these will not take effect until 1 April 2007.

Employer information: As of 1 April 2007 the statutory rates will be as follows:

  • Statutory Sick Pay will increase to £72.55 (currently £72.05)
  • Statutory Maternity Pay, Paternity Pay and Adoption pay will increase to £112.75 (currently £108.85)
