It’s being reported that Starbucks in the US is offering employees and their families free immigration advice from Ernst & Young following President Trump’s controversial ‘travel ban’. A spokesperson for the coffee chain told the website Buzzfeed that the service is helping staff “navigate through this confusing period”.

The speed with which the President’s Executive Order was implemented, and the lack of information surrounding it, understandably caused panic among many workers in the US. While the Brexit situation here in the UK is less alarming in the short-term, the continued uncertainty that EU workers face in light of the Government’s refusal to safeguard their rights is a concern that’s affecting thousands of employees and employers alike.

At Clarkslegal, we have been working with companies to deliver immigration information and support to their EU workers. By giving affected staff a little free support and reassurance, you can help to reduce the risks that uncertainty breeds, including loss of productivity and poor staff retention. If you would like to discuss the ways in which our immigration team can provide help to you and your employees, contact: Immigration@clarkslegal.com
