In her Speech delivered at the opening of Parliament last week, the Queen announced Bills to be introduced in the next session of Parliament up to Spring 2013. Of interest are the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill, the Children and Families Bill and the Crime and Courts Bill. In most cases in the tribunal costs orders are the exception rather than the rule, unlike other areas of litigation where the general rule is that costs follow the event and the unsuccessful litigant normally has to foot the legal bill for the litigation. The following changes are due to come into force on 6 April 2012  Unfair Dismissal Significantly employees whose employment is due to start on or after 6 April will be subject to an increase in the qualifying period for unfair dismissal.
