Further to my letter dated [date], I confirm the Company’s decision to terminate your employment owing to your continued, unexplained and unauthorised absence, which is considered by the Company to constitute either gross misconduct or some other substantial reason justifying dismissal. Your dismissal will take effect [where absence constitutes gross misconduct: today without notice or payment in lieu of notice OR where not gross misconduct so dismissal on notice: [DATE – end of notice period]].
