Responding to a request for a european works council checklist

1.  Does your organisation employ at least 1000 employees in the EEA with at least 150 employees in each of two or more member states? If not, then respond to the request explaining that there is no requirement to set up a works council.
 
2.  Has the request been made by at least 100 employees in at least two undertakings in at least two member states in the EEA? If not, then respond to the request explaining that the request is not valid.
 
3.  If there is a valid request then start negotiations to set up a works council. This must start within six months of receiving the request.
