CONFIRMATION OF PATERNITY LEAVE AND PAY

RE: PATERNITY

Thank you for informing me [of your partner’s pregnancy] [that you and your partner are adopting], and of your wish to receive paternity leave and pay.

[As previously discussed,] you are entitled to up to 2 consecutive weeks’ leave which may only be taken within 56 days of the birth or adoption of the child. You have indicated that you intend to commence your paternity leave on [date] for the duration of [1/2] week[s]. This means your paternity leave will end on [date] and your first day back in the office will be [date].

If you want to amend the date on which you start and/or finish your paternity leave you must, where possible, give me at least 28 days notice before either the new start date or your original start date i.e. [date leave starts], whichever is sooner.
