Additional paternity leave confirmation letter

Thank you for informing me that your [husband] [wife] [civil partner] [partner] has chosen to return to work from [maternity][adoption] leave and of your wish to take Additional Paternity Leave to care for your child. I am pleased to confirm the arrangements, including your entitlement to Statutory Paternity Pay.

[As previously discussed,] you are entitled to take up to 26 consecutive weeks’ Additional Paternity Leave, which may be taken at any time in the period that starts 20 weeks from the date of the child’s [birth] [placement for adoption] and ends 12 months after this date. You have indicated that you intend to commence your Additional Paternity Leave on [date] for the duration of [2 or more] weeks. This means your paternity leave will end on [date] and your first day back in work will be [date].
