Purpose and scope

The purpose of this policy is to communicate the statutory right to adoption leave and pay, enabling employees seeking to adopt to prepare and make decisions about their future. The policy also confirms the Company’s application process for employees wishing to take advantage of these benefits which satisfies the legal requirements for notice and information.

This policy applies to all employees. Both male and female employees are entitled to adoption leave and pay, subject to the rules on eligibility.

The eligibility criteria and some of the main provisions of the statutory entitlements are summarised below. In the case of discrepancy between these provisions and the statutory provisions, the statutory provisions will apply.

This policy is non-contractual and does not form part of your terms and conditions of employment.
