Minimum wage

The National Minimum Wage Act 1998 states that all workers over compulsory school leaving age shall be paid at least the national minimum wage. 

The National Minimum Wage Regulations came into force on 1 April 1999 implementing the national minimum wage.  There are no variations for different regional locations, sectors of employment, size of undertakings or occupations. Subscribe to view the full document
