The Fixed-term Employees (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations 2002 (the “Regulations”) came into effect on 1 October 2002.
The Regulations provide that a fixed-term employee has the right not to be treated by his employer less favourably than a comparable permanent employee as regards the terms of his contract or by being subjected to any other detriment arising from an act, or deliberate failure to act, by his employer.
