In 2004/5, 220 people were fatally injured at work, and 150 559 other injuries to employees were reported. 2 million workers suffered from ill health, which they considered to be caused or exacerbated by their work. 28 million working days were lost due to work-related ill health and 7 million lost due to workplace injury.
