Webinar : Getting to Grips with Data Protection – Handling Subject Access Requests

Cyber
04 Sep 17

According to its annual report, more concerns were reported to the ICO in 2016/2017 than in any other year with subject access complaints topping the bill.

Subject Access Requests (SARS) are a good way for individuals to find out what data is being held about them and ensure that this remains accurate and up to date. However, they are time consuming and costly for businesses and, as such, are increasingly being misused by disgruntled individuals to put pressure on businesses and cause disruption.

With the introduction of the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and its increased penalties for non-compliance, it’s more important than ever for businesses to be alert to their obligations.

Our third webinar in the ‘Getting to Grips’ series will look at:

  • What to do on receipt of a SAR
  • How to respond to a SAR
  • The extent of the search a business needs to undertake
  • Top tips and myth busting
  • Changes under the GDPR
