UK Visas & Immigration is a division of the Home Office which manages the UK’s immigration issues, including: 

  • Considering applications from individuals who want to come to the UK to work or do business; and 
  • Processing applications from employers wishing to register as sponsors.

Illegal Working

It is illegal for an employer to employ someone who does not have permission to work in the UK.  Employers must be familiar with their legal obligations in this regard, which vary according to whether the individual was employed prior to or after 29 February 2008.
