Purpose
 
If a Claimant is successful, a Tribunal will make an award for damages that is appropriate to the type of claim and all the circumstances of the case.

Unfair dismissal awards are made up of a basic and a compensatory award. Discrimination cases are compensated for actual financial losses and also include an element for injury to feelings. Claims may also be brought in a Tribunal for breach of contract or unlawful deductions.
